This aerial photograph was taken by a Sunbury pilot in the early 1940's. It shows the Westinghouse Manufacturing Plant in Sunbury being engulfed by water during a minor flood.
Raised lettering on the iron reads "ACW", standing for American Car Works. A collective labor union agreement reached between the American Car and Foundry Division and the United Steelworkers of America explains an agreement to be followed starting February 15, 1960.
Located in Milton, American Car Works manufactured various types of freight cars. In 1880, the Great Milton Fire began at the American Car Works plant.
