This immigration paperwork (copy) is the cover of the passenger list for the Königin Luise (Queen Luise), which traveled from Bremen to New York under Captain W. V. Schuckmann in July of 1898.
During Milton's Sesquicentennial (150 year) celebration in 1967, men were encouraged to dress in 1817 style. This included wearing a hat and growing a beard. In April, the Brothers of the Brush vowed not to shave their facial hair until Sesquicentennial Week in June. During Sesquicentennial Week, a beard judging competition occurred, awarding participant's beards in ten different categories.
