This aerial photograph was taken by a Sunbury pilot in the early 1940's. It shows the Westinghouse Manufacturing Plant in Sunbury being engulfed by water during a minor flood.
The driver in this photograph, Eddie Carey, pledged to drive the shown car (a 1928-1930 Buick) for 101 hours as part of an endurance challenge. Many sponsors made claims and advertisements on the car, such as "Eddie Carey will eat his first meal at Leiby's Resturant Window". Writing on the car announces that the driver did not eat or sleep during the length of the challenge--and he was handcuffed.
