    This record is from the Fifth Annual Spring Band Festival of Milton Area Schools. The performances included the 5th grade band, junior high school training band, junior high school performing band, and the senior high school band. The performances were held on May 21 and 22, 1964 and were directed by Richard E. Smith and Ross J. Moore.

    During Milton's 150 year celebration, the Sesquicentennial Belles (Sesqui Belles) were incorporated in many events. Women wore long dresses, bonnets, and garters with bells on them for the parade.

    In April, some Milton women made the vow not to wear makeup until Sesquicentennial Week in June. Those who did not make the pledge were required to wear a button as their 'cosmetic permit'.

    Raised lettering on the iron reads "ACW", standing for American Car Works. A collective labor union agreement reached between the American Car and Foundry Division and the United Steelworkers of America explains an agreement to be followed starting February 15, 1960.

    Located in Milton, American Car Works manufactured various types of freight cars. In 1880, the Great Milton Fire began at the American Car Works plant.
