Canal Photograph
Clement (C.) Elwood Fasold, an amateur photographer, was also a station master for PP & L and photographer for the Pennsylvania railroad.
Due to his affiliation with the railroad, the Fasold's were able to travel very often. This picture depicts Sarah (background) preparing to board a Pennsylvania Canal boat. -
C. Elwood Fasold Photograph
During the early 1900's, C. Elwood Fasold (pictured left, with his wife, Sarah, on right) practiced as an amateur photographer in Sunbury. He created a darkroom to develop his film in a closet in his house. C. Elwood Fasold's photography included portrait and post-mortem photographs of family members. He also used burning, dodging, and colorization in some of his photographs.
Beyond his own photography, C. Elwood Fasold worked as a station master for PP & L railroad and photographer for the Pennsylvania railroad.Tags Steve-Williams -

Photographs of Amy Fasold
Sunbury photographer C. Elwood Fasold took these photographs of his daughter, Amy Fasold, as a young girl and post-mortem.
It is believed that Amy died of scarlet fever at age ten. The post-mortem photograph was taken in the front room of the Fasold home, where a visiting and viewing would have occurred in the days leading up to Amy's burial.Tags Steve-Williams
