This book contains photographs of Milton businesses and industries, many of which are no longer in operation. Spaces in the booklet could be purchased to advertise. The booklet is also composed of photographs of non-commercial properties and information about important moments in Milton's history.

Organized in 1881, The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) holds one encampment or convention in Pennsylvania every year. Encampments were held in Milton, Pennsylvania in 1884, 1905, and 1909. The department commander for Milton's 1909 encampment was Dr. D. Sherman Smith.
