Pennsylvania History Harvest

About the Pennsylvania History Harvest

The rich history of Pennsylvania’s central Susquehanna River Valley is little-known outside the region. The Valley's ethnic, cultural and linguistic diversity often remains hidden. To promote understanding of this history, Susquehanna University's Blough-Weis Library holds periodic History Harvests, in which librarians, faculty and students at the University partner with residents of the regional communities to collect, preserve and share stories and artifacts for the entire community to appreciate. This project will bring attention to objects and images that have lived in attics or basements for decades, and stories passed down through generations that have gone unnoticed or have been nearly forgotten. These items and stories can help paint the picture of our area’s rich history, as they’re coming directly from the folks who experienced it. It’s a great opportunity for members of our region to add to its legacy.
